Chess Palace

The project is conceived as a clear geometric volume integrated into the coastal urban and landscape context of Batumi. The architectural composition is based on the contrast between a monolithic white mass and transparent glazed façades, ensuring visual openness and a strong relationship between interior and exterior spaces.

Abstract silhouettes of chess pieces are integrated into the façade articulation, functioning as identity-defining elements rather than decorative features. The inclined green relief softens the building scale and enables a smooth transition between architecture and landscape, while also creating semi-public outdoor spaces.

The proximity to the sea is addressed through façade orientation, material selection, and daylighting strategy, allowing for optimal natural light conditions and improved energy performance. The architectural solution is driven by functional clarity, formal simplicity, and contextual integration.
